Privacy policy

My Loved Cocktail is a recipe website. You can read every page without an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or anything else about you.

What we collect

Only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) and receives your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and roughly where you are. We use this in aggregate only, to decide what to write next. We have not switched on advertising features, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone else. Google's own handling is described in Google's privacy policy.

If you click Reject, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is never loaded.

What loads regardless

Two things happen on every visit, whatever you choose on the banner:

• The fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address. No cookies are set for this.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser) to run and secure the site.

Cookies and your choice

Your answer to the cookie banner is saved in your own browser's storage, not sent to us, and is kept for about 6 months before we ask again. You can change it at any time from Cookie settings, which is also in the footer of every page. Choosing Reject after Accept deletes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

Age

This site is about alcoholic drinks and is meant only for people of legal drinking age where they live. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone younger.

When you confirm you are 18 or older, that answer is saved in your own browser's storage so we do not ask again. It is not sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data is held about you and to have it deleted. Because we hold no account or contact data, the analytics data sits with Google; declining or withdrawing consent stops any more being collected.

If what we collect changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top is updated.
